16 CEOs of PRN partner agencies met in Stuttgart on 31st January 2014. We were proud to welcome Colleen Moffitt, founder of our new US member Communiqué PR, based in Seattle, WA. We were also proud to annouce that we have, following intensive research, finally found a partner in the Middle East: House of Comms in Dubai, covering the entire ME region. Great news to start the meeting!

As always we enjoyed productive discussions on international projects and new business initiatives; Colleen Moffitt talked about PR in the US, Richard Moss from UK partner Proof Communication presented an innovative visual web format they have implemented for a client. The two keynote speakers were also met with great interest: Jeanette Neumann and Ralf Greiner from feedback media design in Stuttgart showed us some apps for workshops and Janos Burghardt from Yaez Verlag talked about how video clips can help to explain complex topics. The day was rounded off by sampling some of Stuttgart’s nightlife: Swabian cuisine in Murrhardter Hof and drinks in Platzhirsch. Saturday saw a tour of the thrilling Mercedes-Benz Museum – we couldn’t let our guests leave without seeing it!

Our partners flew in from the US west coast, from South Africa and from all corners of Europe. Is it worth spending so much time and resources meeting with other PR professionals? It is. PR is people business. And this is why you have to know your international partners, their way of doing business; you have to understand their requirements, their approach and their constraints. You have to build trust to recommend the partners’ services to your own clients. It is only when like-minded people share the same values and levels of quality, that a network – such as the PRN – works successfully.

At Sympra, we invest a lot of time and energy in our international footprint. Our active membership in the Network is basic when meeting our clients’ demands on the international stage. Since we know our partner agencies (or rather their CEOs and colleagues) so well, we are able to offer their services as if they were Sympra’s. Member meetings are crucial for a network’s success. The next meeting in Brescia in July is a fixed date in my agenda!
